Plans for Redevelopment

When the hospital was purchased by the Presbyterian Church in 2004, it was known that the current building, which was originally built for babies but now cares for children up to the age of 16 years, was too cramped to cater for the children and their growing needs and bed numbers had to be reduced until the hospital was expanded.

A redevelopment has been planned to extend the hospital by more than double its present size which will make Allowah a facility which will benefit many children now and into the future.

Unfortunately the cost of redevelopment is great and although we have raised substantial funds for this project we are still in need of approximately half the funds to cover the cost.

The Redevelopment will see the construction of smaller and more personalised wards as well as functional bathrooms to meet the demands of the children. The internal walls will be knocked down to provide quality open space in which activities can take place and a Day Care Centre and an administration block will be constructed.
