ALLOWAH COMES TO YOUR LOUNGEROOM VIA CHANNEL TEN WEATHER
On Wednesday the 30 May, the weather broadcast was dedicated to Allowah Presbyterian Children's Hospital.
Frank Colletta and the film team from channel 10 did a brilliant job in helping the "Allowah media team" get the message across, "Allowah needs your help" please "buy a brick".
Allowah's media team? You may be wondering who they are? Or maybe not. Anyway, a dedicated group of children from Allowah, parents and staff, the CEO, children and friends of Allowah, with a special star spot for Toby Allowah's therapy wonder dog - all became by default the "Allowah media team".
With banners, balloons and t-shirts all sporting the new Allowah logo, and of course Toby cleaned and brushed for his TV appearance, we travelled to Westmead to launch the Allowah redevelopment appeal on national television.
Over the course of the hour long news, the weather updates, featuring Allowah, were seen three times with Frank Colletta highlighting Allowah's need for redevelopment and support.
A father of a child from Allowah who spoke on the night was able to express with first hand knowledge the need for Allowah's redevelopment for the children and the families.
We were able to get Allowah's name out into the wider community, with the contacts for phone donation and web site information shown.
Donations from people who saw the broadcast were received by phone and web site over the next few days. Thank you to all who donated and to our dedicated core supporters.
