Our Family Liaison gives ongoing, informal emotional support to parents, siblings and other family members and carers. She can provide counselling for parents struggling to cope or whose relationships are under strain and can make referrals to an independent or specialist counsellor outside of Allowah when needed.
It can be hard when caring for a child with complex needs to find all the information and support that is needed for day-to-day life. Our Family Liaison helps families find services that are available, puts them in touch with providers, and talks with government departments and other organisations to help families access the resources and treatment they need.
