Allowah Presbyterian Children’s Hospital is a fully accredited and licensed medical and rehabilitation paediatric hospital – and we are a hospital like no other.
Allowah is a modern and bright facility in Dundas Valley, NSW. We support children and young people from birth to the age of eighteen who have moderate to severe disabilities and medical needs – such as genetic or chromosomal disorders, birth trauma, cerebral palsy, head injuries, and conditions acquired after birth.
Allowah’s medical team provides 24 hour care. The children we support often require a high level of medical care and are at the centre of our service delivery. Our staff are exceptional in the way they care for the children. When a child who has moderate to severe disabilities and complex health needs becomes unwell, it is good to know that Allowah has the skills and facilities to care for them.
We admit children to the hospital for a range of reasons, such as seizure management, dystonia management, dysphagia management and aspiration prevention, pressure area care, gastrostomy management and more. Admissions may be overnight or for a day admission. Children are admitted under the care of the admitting medical practitioner. No referral is required.
We can provide the special care that is sometimes needed after undergoing surgery. With the careful observation and attention of our clinical staff, we can assist your child during their recovery.
The Allowah team aims to provide the very best food services to each child, working with both the nursing staff and allied health team to ensure each meal is suitable for each child. The menu is rotated and reviewed regularly in order to keep variety and interest in the food provided. Food is prepared fresh on-site every day.
With at least one Registered Nurse on site at all times, and experienced paediatricians on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, you can be confident that your child is well looked after during their hospital stay.
